Yaba Local Council Development Area Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Department graduated participants of a 10-day training in Event Decoration, Cosmetology and Body Therapy.
The Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale, ably represented by the Vice Chairman Hon. Nurudeen Bolanle Aileru urged graduands to utilize the opportunity given.
“Package your brand or products, you are addressed the way you are dressed, advertise your brand and I can assure you; you will make a career out of this.
“Engage in personal development to advance your skills and career. Interpersonal skills can be utilized in achieving excellence that is desired.”
Certificates of attendance and start-up kits were given to graduands to enable them practice skills and other activities learnt during the programme. All graduands were given materials needed to set the business rolling for them.
Head of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Department, Mrs. Mutiat Somoye encouraged the graduands not to dump or neglect the certificate being given, to keep learning and keep believing in themselves.
The Head of Administration Yaba LCDA, Mr. Lai Giwa also enjoined graduands to adopt synergy to make other graduands beneficiaries outside their comfort zone.
“Iron sharpening iron makes it sharper. Whatever one teaches others sticks to one’s brain and broadens one’s horizon.”
The Council Manager gave the vote of thanks.
Present at the event were members of staff, party chieftain and other dignitaries.
