Yaba LCDA organizes town hall meeting with CDAs in Iwaya

The Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale met with representatives of all CDAs within Iwaya community on Tuesday 13th September 2022 to sensitize them on the new laws that guide indiscriminate parking on the roads.

He emphasized the purpose of the meeting is to enthrone Democracy and respect for the Rule of Law.

He further opined that for any government to be successful, there is need to enlighten the people on any newly introduced government policies

Dr. Omiyale also thanked the state governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the construction (inter-lock) road along Onike to Oko-Agbon, and that the kind gesture is not taken for granted.

In his speech, the newly constructed road must be properly maintained for continuous easy accessibility to the people.

He registered his displeasure as the road has been converted to a car park, which contravenes the reason for the construction.

Furthermore, he promised to ensure that road signs will be erected to guide users on illegal parking on the road.

“Ignorance is not an excuse permissible in law, that is the reason for the meeting with the CDAs representatives so they can relay it to members of their various CDAs,” he added.

In the same vein, the mayor added that the on-going reconstruction of Moshalashi Road in Iwaya will be completed soon. He also promised to reconstruct Owodunni Road and drainage in Iwaya, in partnership with the state government immediately after the completion of Moshalashi Street.

He added that all these developments and more is the government’s way of saying thank you to the people for their continuous support and love and for them to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
