Yaba Magistrate prosecutes former MD, two others for stealing N1 Billion

A Magistrate Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State, on Monday docked one Dare Osamo before Magistrate Mrs A. A. Oshiniyi for allegedly stealing N1 billion.

Osamo, a former managing director of a Murtala Muhammed Airport-based firm, Star Orient Nigeria Limited, was reported to have been arraigned alongside Ayoola Olore Abisola and Hussaina Abdulkadir, on a four-count charge, which include forgery and stealing, by the Zone 2 of the Police Command, Onikan, Lagos.

The Prosecutor, Jimoh Joseph, said the accused had been under investigation for a year and six months before they were arraigned, following the Department of Public Prosecution’s (DPP’s) advice that they had a case to answer.

However, when the charge was read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Oshuniyi, granted them bail of N5 million with two sureties, one of who must be employed, provide his residential address and tax payment evidence, while the other, a member of their family.
