The exercise which began on February 9 saw party leaders Honourable (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale, Honourable Jide Jimoh, Honourable Wale Oshun, Honourable Bayo Adefuye, Raheem Ibrahim and others revalidating their membership.
The Chairman, Honourable Omiyale, called for cooperation and due process and urged stakeholders to ensure massive mobilisation of members at the grassroots for the exercise.
He added that this is done to identify and know the bonafide members of the party.
He pointed out that the world is now in a digital age, that is why the party is also going digital in the registration of its members to ensure the success of the party ahead of the 2023 general election.
An APC chieftain, Kayode Adewuyi, while speaking with yabacity.com during the exercise, called on members of the party and people of the state to take advantage of the opportunity of the registration to join the party.
“Tell your friends, neighbours, associates to join APC through the on-going registration exercise. Old members will revalidate their membership status and the new members will register afresh. APC membership registration is not done by proxy, you are expected to go to your ward and register at your polling booth. It is a train, and it is better to join now.”
Adewuyi described the registration exercise as a unique one.
He added that the APC remained the only party in Nigeria to register its members and ensure that its members have a unique number.
The exercise is expected to run through till February 25.
