2021 Budget in Focus as Yaba LCDA Hosts Executive/Legislature, and Others, Retreat

Ahead of the presentation of the 2021 budget, the Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Honourable Kayode Omiyale on Thursday 21, 2021 declared open a three-day executive/legislature budget retreat and sensitization on procurement process themed “Budget of Restoration”.

Honourable Moshood Olanrewaju Oshun, member of House of Assembly representing Yaba Constituency II, who was one of the Special Guests of honour at the 3-day Budget Retreat which was held at the Bon Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, charged all organs of government to work in harmony for the benefit of the people of Yaba LCDA.

According to the Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale, “All revenue collectors must sign necessary contractual agreement with the Legal Officer without any delay or risk revocation of their franchise.” He said this during the Opening Ceremony of the retreat.

The Chairman of the Revenue Committee of Yaba LCDA, Mrs Williams advised the Local Government to sponsor officers who lack financial muscles to further their studies under the umbrella of professional bodies, such as ICAN, NMA, NBA, NIPM, NIM, NIPR and others. She submitted that it would enable such officers to discharge their duties to the highest standard possible.

Honourable Rufus Oladele Adekanye, former Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government and a member of the House of Assembly representing Mainland Constituency I, was the Special Guest honour at the closing ceremony. He emphasised the importance of teamwork, compromise, and collaboration.
