US Secretary Of State Blinken Charges Tinubu On US-Nigeria Links

United States Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken has charged president-elect Bola Tinubu to continue to strengthen the links between the United States and Nigeria.

Spokesperson US Department of State, Matthew Miller in a statement said Blinken who spoke with Tinubu on Tuesday morning, emphasize his continued commitment to further strengthening the U.S.-Nigeria relationship with the incoming administration.

Blinken noted that the U.S.-Nigeria partnership is built on shared interests and strong people-to-people ties and that those links should continue to strengthen under President-elect Tinubu’s tenure.

Also, the pair discussed the importance of inclusive leadership that represents all Nigerians, continued comprehensive security cooperation, and reforms to support economic growth.

Meanwhile, preparations are in top gear for the swearing in of Tinubu to succeed Muhammadu Buhari as the next president of Nigeria on May 29, 2023.
