UCL: Man City, Bayern Tie Far From Over —Guardiola

Pep Guardiola believes the Champions League quarter-final tie between Manchester City and Bayern Munich is not over.

City will take a comfortable 3-0 lead against Bayern into the second leg at the Allianz Arena.

Rodri gave City a first half lead before Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland got on the score sheet in the second half.

But Guardiola is not carried away with City’s healthy first leg lead, stating that Bayern are capable of canceling it.

“It was not comfortable. Emotionally I’m destroyed,” said Guardiola. “I have 10 more years [on me] today (Tuesday). It was so demanding game.

“Now I have to relax, a day off for the guys, prepare for Leicester. I know exactly what you have to do there. If you don’t perform really well they are able to score one, two, three. I know that. The players know that. It’s an incredible result, but we have to do our game with huge, huge personality.

“They had the chances to score goals. A corner, a header, we try to analyse many things when it’s little details. I had the feeling that other teams in the previous season had less chances than Bayern and scored goals.”

City will return to Premier League action at the weekend when they host relegation threatened Leicester City.

They are six points behind leaders Arsenal but with a game in hand.
