Nigeria Drops As Argentina Occupies 1st In FIFA Ranking

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped 9 places in the just released FIFA world rankings.

The Super Eagles are presently the 40th best team in the latest ranking published by FIFA on Thursday.

Recall that Nigeria was the 31st ranked team in the world in the December, 2022 ranking and have now dropped places below.

However, the Nigerian National team are currently sitting as the 6th best team in Africa, while semi finalist at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Morocco are the number 1 ranked team in Africa and now 11th best team in the world.

Other African footballing nations behind Morocco are Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria.

After the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Argentina were crowned champions and has reflected in their world rankings as they sit in the 1st place followed by finalist, France, Brazil, Belgium, England, Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Portugal and Spain, making the top 10.

Other teams that occupied the 11th to 20th position are Morocco, Switzerland, USA, Germany, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Senegal, Denmark, and Japan.
