David de Gea Makes Club History During Manchester United’s Carabao Cup Win

Manchester United number-one shot-stopper, David De Gea has written his name in gold in the history books of the club.

The Spaniard became the first goalkeeper in the history of the club to have 181 clean sheets. De Gea overtook Peter Schmeichel’s record at the club to become the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in Manchester United history.

He achieved this feat in the final of the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United.

The Red Devils came into the game having not won a trophy since 2007 when Jose Mourinho led them to a Europa League triumph. Manchester United won the game by two goals with goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United were crowned Champions of the 2022/23 Carabao Cup following their impressive win over the Magpies.
