The Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale on Tuesday 3rd January signed into law the 2023 budget passed by the Legislative Arm of the Council.
Omiyale signed a budget of N3,999,007,765.96 (Three Billion, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Million, Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty-Five Naira, and Ninety-Six Kobo) for the 2023 financial year, before the Legislative Arm for approval and passage.
The budget which includes Federal Statutory Allocations, State Coordinated Revenue, Local License Fees & Fines, Earning from Commercial Undertakings, Rent on Properties, etc, was well received by the House Delegates.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman commended the Executive Committee Members as well as the Management Team for a successfully articulated and executed 2022 budget. He also enjoined them to continue to cooperate with him so that the 2023 budget can also record even higher Successes.
On a lighter note, he alluded that the 2023 budget is already a success because the national budget was also signed the same day by the President. He further explained that the reason why he and his team made sure that this year’s budget came up very early in January was to make sure that all hands are on deck to commence government business which is service delivery to the citizens the very first week of the year.
The Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Solomon Gbinigie in his remarks said the interest of the people is the interest of the legislative because their duty and responsibility is to make life easier for the people in all ramifications. He also commended the Executive Arm for presenting the appropriation estimates early enough for them to do due diligence before official approval and consent. This he said is historic in the annals of the LCDA.
Present at the event were the Legislators, the Executive Committee Members, the Management Team, the APC apex leader in Mainland, Hon. Olawale Oshun who lauded the Executive Chairman and his team for a job well done. Also present was the APC Chairman, Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon. Raheem Ibraheem and other party chieftains.
