The West Africa Examination Council building in Yaba, Lagos has been gutted by fire
Reports said several people were trapped in the building as the fire raged.
The fire started at about 6:50 am. Cries for help were heard from those trapped in the building.
The officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency responders were said to have arrived at the scene.
