In tandem with the traditions of the Omiyale administration to give back to the electorate, the Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale remains committed to the welfare of the widows in Yaba LCDA as he joins others to celebrate the widows in the Local Government secretariat, Adekunle, Yaba.
Accordingly, 100 widows were picked from the nine wards which make up Yaba LCDA and they were all given stipends as well as foodstuff.
At the occasion, the first guest speaker spoke on the theme of the program tagged ‘Living and Surviving the New Life called Widowhood’.
The second speaker enlightened the widows on how to manage their inheritance well, not to be wasteful and how the Law can be of assistance if need be.
The third speaker said health is wealth, that it’s very important for the widows to take good care of their health, eat right, drink right and do every other thing in moderation so as to live long enough for their children.
Some of the recipients’ joy knew no bounds as they opined that the stipends was timely and they gave accolades to the Executive Chairman.
Present at the occasion were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bolanle Aileru, the Council Manager, Mr. Lai Giwa, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adekitan Oyemade, Council Treasurer, Mr. Jimoh Balogun amongst others.
