It has become a norm in Yaba LCDA to give monthly stipends to senior citizens/widows.
The Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Kayode Omiyale remains committed to the welfare of the aged/widows in Yaba LCDA as promised during his second term election bid campaign, “senior citizens/widows’ welfare will be one of our integral projects.”
This he upheld and has been a monthly routine. August edition was held yesterday at the LCDA headquarters.
In accordance to the set agendum, 100 senior citizens/widows were picked from the nine wards which makes up Yaba LCDA. One of the recipients Mrs. Elizabeth Gusanu, who is the oldest at 91 years was given an additional N20,000.
Omiyale announced the increment of the monthly stipends to 20,000 with effect from October edition.
Some of the recipients’ joy knew no bounds as it was given at the needed time according to them and they eulogized the Chairman.
Present at the occasion were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bola Aileru, the Council Manager, Otunba Lai Giwa, APC Chieftain Otunba Adetayo Oyemade, APC Chairman, Alh. Raheem Ibrahim, amongst others.
