Lagos Mainland Local Government Council Boss, Hon. Mrs Omolola Essien in the early hours of Thursday 7th July, 2022 hosted over 300 senior citizens from across the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs in Lagos state to the official launch of “Senior Citizens Support Group for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu” (ARUGBO FOR JAGABAN AND BOS) at the Council Secretariat.
In her opening remark, the Lagos Mainland number one citizen appreciates the efforts made by the senior citizens to be present at the maiden gathering of the support group for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ‘s presidential ambition and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s re-election.
“Truthfully, every one present here today were carefully selected by the 57 Council’s Chairmen in the state based on some fundamental criterions that will be of great benefits to the party in the coming general election, members of this group have Voter’s Card, are 60years plus, Prayerful and can massively mobilize within their community.
“ARUGBO FOR JAGABAN AND BOS is vouchsafed with the sole responsibility of mobilizing, coordinating and organizing the people in your community who can give their maximum support, loyalty and cooperation to the entire APC candidates in the forthcoming General election in the state.
“The Man JAGABAN – Honestly, it’s very difficult to describe all the qualities of this heroic kingmaker, a nation-building strategist, a human capital professional and of course a core family man, all rolled into one”. He needs our maximum support as we get closer and closer to the electioneering year.
“Furthermore, we will drum up our support for Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for a second term in office. Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration has been people’s oriented and progressive. Our great party has endorsed Sanwo-Olu because of his problem-solving ability. For he has beyond reasonable doubt, proved his mettle to lead Lagos State to greater heights based on his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development, the success in tackling corona virus, strategic solutions to traffic gridlock, as well as key interventions in various sectors in the state.
“We believe in your collective abilities and therefore must have a solid team on the ground at your various LG/LCDA canvassing and influencing. Knock on every door that you have identified as a potential vote in the community, this is imperative. We must also follow up with potential voters to remind them to vote for our dear party All Progressives Congress (APC). It may seem redundant but it is proven that face-to-face interaction gets people out.”
Chief Ayo Adeola from Amuwo Odofin was full of praise for the LMLG OO1, in his words, “The Chair, to be honest, I don’t know how you manage to think of this noble initiative, I just want you to know that you have done a good job. Very well done.”
Another Mrs Comfort from Ajeromi Ifelodu n LCDA opined that the way Mrs Essien is handling the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s project showed resilience, experience, knowledge, and critical thinking. “We would love to get your perspective by the time we’ll be starting in out in our LCDA.”
