LASG assures intending Christian pilgrims of unique spiritual experience

The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has assured intending pilgrims of a unique spiritual experience during the forthcoming pilgrimage exercise to Jerusalem and Jordan.

The Board Secretary (LSCPWB), Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, gave the assurance during her interview session with media correspondents in her Ikeja office, noting that the experience of the spiritual journey to the holy lands is new and unique every year as evidenced by the testimonies of former pilgrims.

She said: “Despite the fact that they tour the same spiritual sites yearly, the exercise is never monotonous. It always has a new experience for everyone. This is one thing about this exercise as it is a spiritual journey and not physical, with the spiritual content being very powerful”.

On preparations for the year 2022 pilgrimage exercise, the Board Secretary noted that preparations are in top gear towards the success of the journey with more emphasis on the spiritual content to encourage the pilgrims to pray at every historic biblical site visited.

Gbafe noted that applications for this year’s exercise have increased with more intending pilgrims coming on board due to Israel opening its borders for the pilgrimage exercise after the aftermath of COVID-19.

According to her, the pandemic also opened a new vista as the Kingdom of Jordan was added to countries for pilgrimage exercises, while there are plans to add more countries that have historic biblical sites to the list.

She explained that the services of the Board are unique and enriching, hence the reason why intending pilgrims from other States choose Lagos State for their pilgrimage exercise, stressing that LSCPWB recorded zero cases of abscondment during the last pilgrimage exercise.
