Hon. Essien, security agencies meet over Lagos Mainland security challenges

Necessary measures should be taken to curb criminal activities within the LGA – Hon. Essien

Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon. Mrs. Omolola Essien recently held a security meeting to follow-up on the recent outcry of mainlanders over the security challenges facing some parts of the LGA. The council boss along with the secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Ogunniyi, council Manager, Mr. Olusegun Ajagunna were on hand to brief all the security agencies present at the meeting which was held at the conference room of the council secretariat.

Denton Police Station DPO, SP Joseph assured that based on the recommendation of the council boss, all necessary measures would be taken to ensure that the people residing within and business owners across the LGA carry out their activities without any form of hindrance to make the local government areas a safer place for all.

NPF Iponri Division DPO, CSP Onah Emmanuel shares the opinion of Area ‘C’ commander, ACP Adedeji that they’re extremely sensitive to any and every sign of growing tensions in their jurisdictions and by so “we urge residents and business owners to keep calm and feel safe.”

After the meeting, Hon. Essien presented three (3) patrol vehicles to Denton Division, Iponri Division and the Local vigilante group. In her words: “By assisting law enforcers with patrol vehicles, we hope that lawlessness will be addressed and will also reduce in our community, they’ll ensure the streets are safe for each and every one, to be able to walk freely as well as create a conducive environment for business to thrive.

“Our Police can continually attend to calls for assistance as always.”
