Yaba LCDA donates cash to aged, widows

The monthly Senior Citizens/Aged monetary assistance programme promised by the Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon., Kayode Adejare Omiyale, held on April 12, 2022, at the LCDA headquarters.

The mayor who was represented by Vice Chairman, Hon. Bolanle Aileru remphasised the administration’s commitment to ensuring the aged/senior citizens within Yaba LCDA feels his administration’s impact and one of the ways this can be done is through the monthly programme.

In continuation of last month’s programme where there were over 100 beneficiaries, some widows were included in the month of April.

In his words, the Vice Chairman said, “I acknowledge present and past contributions of this Aged/Senior Citizens as part of foundations for the survival of present development and may I also appeal to all to sacrifice our prime time for the future of others.”

He made a roll call to be sure the nine wards in Yaba LCDA were well represented. Over 100 senior citizens were given a cash sum of #10,000 each as monthly stipends and also, it was confirmed that another set of people will benefit from the programme next month.

Some of the recipients praised the Executive Chairman and prayed for the success of his administration.

Present at event were party chieftains, Apex Leader Mainland, Elder Adewale Oshun, Otunba Adetayo Oyemade, former Chairman of defunct Mainland Local Government, Mrs Mutiat Shomoye, Head of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation amongst others.
