A fire outbreak occurred at Apongbon market on Lagos Island on Wednesday, causing panic among traders and residents of the area.
Yabacity.com learned that many stores and properties were destroyed in the fire incident and the inferno has caused a gridlock on the Eko bridge.
Vehicles parked under the bridge were also affected by the inferno which enveloped a large section of the bridge.
It is understood that the Federal and Lagos Fire Services were at the scene of the incident, trying to put out the fire.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the inferno is yet unknown and the number of casualties cannot be ascertained.
