Continuous task and bedrock for a successful nation, our duties – Omiyale

Senior citizens/aged people of Yaba LCDA were hosted by the Executive Chairman Hon. (Dr) Kayode Adejare Omiyale on Thursday, at the LCDA headquarters where he acknowledged their various contributions to the state and the nation’s development during their active years.

In his words, “you have paid your dues in the past by inference, you cannot be neglected nor forsaken now. Your well-being is paramount to this Government and we will not relent until this is achieved.”

Over 100 senior citizens were given the cash sum of N10,000 each and the chairman promised to make this a monthly event that will cut across all the wards within the LCDA.

Some of the recipients eulogized the chairman and prayed for the success of his administration.

Subsequently, schools in Yaba LCDA were given free exercise books as usual to mark this term’s free exercise book distribution. The mayor said, “we all agree that education is the bedrock to the success of a nation and as a Government, we need to ameliorate parents’ expenses on education. We are making it attractive for pupils and stimulating the learning process.”

Head Teacher of Oluremi Tinubu Nursery & Primary School thanked the chairman for the gesture and promised that the pupils cherish, and will utilise the books to their benefits.

The events were graced by the Head of Admin., Otunba Lai Giwa, Head of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Mrs Abiodun Somoye, Head of Education Department Mrs Akinlolu Iretioluwa, amongst others.
