Lagos Mainland LG presents N3.9b 2022 budget to Legislative Council

The Executive Chairman Lagos Mainland Local Government Hon. (Mrs) Omolola Rashidat Essien has presented the Year 2022 Fiscal Budget of her administration to the council officers.

The Council Boss presented the ‘Budget of Consolidation’ in the sum of Three Billion, Nine Hundred and Ninety-three Million, Two and Eighty Thousand, Nine Hundred and Seventy-three Naira, Thirty-three Kobo (N3,993,280,973.33) to the 5th Legislative House of Lagos Mainland Local Government.

According to her, “the year 2022 fiscal budget was put together to conform to the feature of modern-day budgeting in line with the Procurement law which is simplicity, clarity, flexibility, conciseness, predictive, projective, and lastly practicable.”

She continued that: “The administration placed a premium on the welfare of the people and consequently, the budget has been carefully packaged to address the socio-economic development in the Local Government Area, such that will galvanize optimal economic activities.

“Amidst all economic challenges, the administration is moving forward. This administration is poised to prioritize with the budget to embark on projects that will have a direct impact on the people and community at large. While equally enhancing the Health department, especially during this pandemic period.”

In his remarks, the Leader of the House Hon. Azeez Oloto said; “The House strongly believes that the budget will be of great benefit to the good people and residents of Lagos Mainland Local Government.

He however assured all stakeholders that there will be no delay in the prompt passage of the year 2022 budget.
