The Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area Hon. (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale inaugurated and proclaimed the 5th Yaba Legislative Council, at the Council Chambers 30th July 2021.
The Council boss reaffirmed his commitment to synergise with the legislative arm of Yaba LCDA for development of infrastructure and timely projects for the people’s betterment.
In his words, “The journey was tough and rough, however it’s time for real work as we can’t afford to fail. We are bound to demur on policies, but I (executive) promise to operate an open-door policy that will favour all.
In view of this, I (executive) move the motion for the inauguration and proclamation of the 5th Legislative arm of Yaba LCDA.”
The clerk of the house proceeded to take the roll call, moved the motion for the nomination of the Leader and Deputy Leader of the House.
Hon. Solomon Gbinigie and Hon. Kayode Olujobi were unopposedly returned as the Leader and Deputy Leader respectively.
The Oath of Office was performed by the Council Legal Officer, Barr. Akindele.
Other members of the House are Hon. Babajide Adetona, Hon. Olukolu, Hon. Babatunde Dosunmu, Hon. Adebola Kazeem, Hon. Shola Thomas and others.
Present at the event were the Council Manager Mr. Lai Giwa, the Council Treasurer Mr. Jimoh-Balogun and other party chieftains.
