Parley meeting and reelection bid of Yaba LCDA chairman

The parley/reconciliation meeting of the Executive, Legislative and Management of Yaba LCDA was held on Monday 17th May 2021, at the Lion’s Gate Hotel, Sabo-Yaba.

The conference which was meant to bring political office holders together to give account of stewardship of the last four years in office began with opening prayer by the Leader of the House, Hon. Solomon Gbinigie. The welcome speech was delivered by the Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Adetayo Adekitan Oyemade, who welcomed everyone present and emphasised on the need to be team players for the coming election.

In the same vein, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Kayode Adejare Omiyale welcomed and appreciated the presence of everyone and thanked them for their usual cooperation.

He gave account of his stewardship with the achievements in office which include youth empowerment, road construction, refurbishment of schools, distribution of working tools to artisans, among others. He also acknowledged the fact that he has maintained a good relationship with his cabinet. Though he admitted that there are challenges, however he promised to make amends and implore everyone to embrace peace and work together for the coming election.

However, the Vice Chairman of Yaba LCDA Hon. Bolanle Aileru buttressed the Chairman’s remarks on need for checks and balances. He thanked the management for ensuring smooth flow of work by accommodating the political office holders, and the councillors under the leadership of Hon. Solomon Gbinigie who also thanked the chairman and assured him of their support for the coming election.

This proceeded the reelection/flag off bid of Hon. (Dr) Kayode Adejare Omiyale on Tuesday 18th of May 2021 at the Oluremi Tinubu Hall Yaba LCDA, where all party faithfuls, leaders, chieftains, youths, market women, Igbo representatives, Arewa representatives, and the community development committee (CDC) endorsed Hon. (Dr) Kayode Adejare Omiyale for second term in office.

They all enjoined the chairman to continue his good works in order to consolidate on his achievements.

Other notable figures in attendance were the Executive Chairman Mainland Local Government, Hon. Rasheedah Omolola Essien, former sole administrator, Yaba LCDA, Hon. Bayo Adefuye, Chief Oyemade and other dignitaries.
