Two die, five injured in Bauchi crash

No fewer than two people were killed in a lone fatal crash that occurred on Tuesday in Bauchi State while five others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Yusuf Abdullahi, confirmed the accident to our correspondent on Wednesday.

Abdullahi said the crash occurred at Kahun village along Darazo – Dukku Road in the Darazo Local Government Area of the state at about 6.36pm.

He identified the only vehicle involved as a white commercial Toyota Hiace bus with number plate DKA 127 XT which was conveying 14 male adults.

Abdullahi said FRSC officials evacuated victims of the crash to the Darazo General Hospital for treatment and confirmation.

He added that it was at the hospital that a medical doctor confirmed two male adults dead.

He added said that the corpses were deposited at the hospital’s morgue before they would later be released to their relatives.

According to him, the crash was caused by a tyre burst.
