Football superstar, Kylian Mbappe has been named the new France National team captain after the retirement of Hugo Lloris.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe, 24, accepted the proposal after discussions with coach Didier Deschamps earlier in the day.
Tottenham goalkeeper Lloris brought an end to his international career in January after losing the World Cup final a month earlier.
Lloris, 36, had been skipper for more than a decade.

According to reports from L’Equipe, Deschamps has chosen Mbappe, over veteran Griezmann, as part of a new era in French football.
Raphael Varane joined Lloris in stepping away from the national scene at the start of 2023 – as part of big personnel changes for Deschamps – with Mbappe set to lead France for the first time against the Dutch, on home soil at the Stade de France, on March 24.
